Medication Management
Independent Management Services offers comprehensive medication management to support overall mental health and well-being. Our two Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) provide personalized care, working closely with clients to evaluate needs, prescribe and monitor medications, and ensure treatment plans are safe and effective. By combining compassionate care with clinical expertise, our providers help individuals find stability, reduce symptoms, and improve daily functioning. Medication management can be used on its own or in combination with therapy to create a well-rounded approach to healing and growth.
FAQ
What can I expect during my first appointment?
During your initial visit, the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will review your history, discuss your symptoms and goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. This may include recommendations for medication, therapy, or both.
Do I need to be a current patient to receive services?
No, you do not need to be a current patient or participate in other services to work with our medication management team.
Do I need both therapy and medication management?
Not necessarily. Some people benefit from therapy alone, others from medication, and many from a combination of both. Our providers will work with you to determine the best approach for your unique needs.
Can my medication be managed if I’m already seeing a therapist here?
Yes. Our PMHNP’s collaborate closely with our therapists to ensure your care is coordinated and supportive of your overall treatment goals.
How often will I need follow-up appointments for medication management?
This depends on your specific needs and the medications prescribed. Typically, follow-up visits are scheduled every 4–6 weeks at first and then adjusted as your treatment stabilizes.
Does my insurance cover services?
Coverage depends on your specific insurance plan and the type of services you need. Many of our services are covered by Medicaid, Medicare, and most private health insurance plans. To find out exactly what your insurance covers, we recommend contacting your provider directly or reaching out to our office. We’re happy to help verify your benefits and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you begin services.
